  1. love the cat shot, esp the sharpness around the tongue! I have a soft spot for BW cats myself

Cards looking a little over contrasty to me, I cant see the edges of the white cards

love the POV and the intimacy of the golf shot. I know sometimes you are just stuck, but the lack of detail on the end of the club is a bit of an attention sucking blackhole. I do quite like the detail of the scratches on the head of the club where its hit the ball tho 🙂

    • I’m sorta in agreement with you with the cards. I really like the shot, but I can’t figure out how best to process it. I tried less contrasty and it lacked punch. It works much better on a black background actually, but not available on the blog.

Golf shot was a right pain to get, the camera was on the floor and getting it focused nearly broke my neck. Got such a crick in it now :-(. The cat didn’t much like me taking her photo, but it’s my sharpest pet shot by far, the eyes are razor. The 400D seems to achieve best focus using flash, which is a funny one.

As ever, thanks for the feedback. We do keep improving ;D

  2. Great shots (all of them)!! I love how you were able to capture the cat’s tongue just at the right moment (I just posted a photo of one of my cats, but it’s not as interesting as yours). Even though you can’t see the edge of the cards very well, I still like the effect. The golf shot has GREAT detail, and I love the angle!! Great job! 🙂

    • I’d love to say it was skill, but I actually cursed when I saw she stuck her tongue out, then realised it made the shot when I saw it on screen. Funny how that works sometimes.

  3. These are beyond great! Your focus is absolutely perfect in these.

    • Thanks Matt. I checked out your flickr and website, you have some great images there, I’ve added you as a contact and will have a more in depth look later.
