The musings of a budding photographer

Thrybergh Hall

Thrybergh Hall, now known as the clubhouse for Rotherham golf club. I took my camera to the club today and tried to take photos as the light faded into evening. I had thought the colours might be inspiring, but as it turned out the sky was dead and the colour version the same.

Black and white provides a powerful image once again.

I now suspect that the best time to photograph this building is just after sunrise, ideally on a frosty or snowy morning. At this time of year the sun rises almost directly behind the position from  which this photo was taken which should give any moisture on the surface a nice shimmer. The only problem is that I would have to be there for 7:30 to capture it, it’s half an hour from home, and frost on the floor means extremely cold tootsies.

But for you, dear readers, I will endeavour to get the shot. And hold fast, I have a warmer image coming shortly.
